the names

I never know what name to pick for a site. I spent my teens making strange little websites on Tripod, and my twenties making and abandoning blog upon blog upon blog. I made twitter bots, when twitter was still fun. I made my own social network using Ning, back when you could do that sort of thing for free. I was the only person using my social network, because I didn't invite anyone else to join. I was the only person reading most of my blogs, too. I didn't make them for an audience; I made them for the joy of making them.

Anyway, names. I never know what to pick. I was always changing my usernames and blog titles, because the names were part of the creation, and the joy of creation lies in change, and play, and experiment. And now I've decided on a whim to make this site, and I'm in my late thirties, and this part of me hasn't changed at all: I can't bear to settle on a static identity.

So, for now at least, I'm calling this site the names. I'm encompassing all possible future names in this title. I imagine I'll change it later.
